problems with my mossberg 500
Well I just installed a tacstar pistol grip, and side mount shell carrier. Now It will not cycle rounds, the loader thingie doesnt drop down to get the next round. Did I hit a hidden lever or do I just need to take the accessories back off.

The pistol grip doesn't interfere with anything so it's okay. Get rid of the shell mount. 0 -
Hi, I have side saddles on my 500's and 590's and have had no problems. You may have over tightened the new screw you installed through the ejection port. Try backing it off a little and tighten the nut only. The installation instructions do make mention of this. 0 -
My guess is the side saddle is interfereing with the shell elevator. the slightest pressure pusing on those pegs and it will not work. The side saddle isnt needed IMO. Unless you really care about you ego. 0 -
It's probably the side saddle, as was mentioned.
And as was mentioned, you should probably just get rid of it. A bandolier or shell pouch will serve you much better in any situation than the side saddle will. They look great and seem to be a logical accessory, but they're a false bill of goods.
Anything that will hold onto shells tight enough to keep them from flying loose under a 12-gauge's recoil will hold them tight enough to be a pain in the @$$ when you try to remove them.
And if it doesn't hold on to them tightly, have fun picking them up off the floor after the first shot.0 -
You over tightened the screw for the side saddle. The one that goes where the trigger group pin was. Loosen it a little bit and you should be fine. 0
