Value of Revolutionary War Musket

A revolutionary war musket was passed down in the family to me. It was at the Battle of Bunker Hill and was carried by a Colonel Onion. It does not fire, but is in good shape. I am wondering what it is worth.

    musket_008.jpgHere is a photo..I have several more that I will add. On top of the barrel it looks like ii is engraved dovglas and on the stock behind the hammer is says 17=cp

    By using a diffenrt reply for each picture you have closed you own topic, you see they lock each topic after 10 replies it "ask the experts. I suggest that you go back and post all photos using just one reply.

    It appears to be a "fusil" or light musket due to the style, sling holes and bayonet stud. The "CP" might stand for "Commonwealth Property" which was a stamping used in Pennsylvania. It may be of British or American origin but is definitely worth more research by an expert in American Revolution weaponry.

    I suggest you post your question in the other pre-1898 forum as there are a number of published experts, in there, both American and British such as Bill Curtis, James Whisker and Shelby Gallien, who should be able to assist you.
