Win. Model 52 (old)
I'm looking for some information on a rifle my grandfather gave me. Unfortunately, he has since passed. It's a Model 52 Winchester .22 long rifle. The patent dates on it are 1920, November 11, 18, 25 and December 19, 1915, and February 17, March 30, and April 27, 1920.
It's in excellent condition. It has the frame of a 1903.

If you give us the serial # we can tell you what year and model sounds like a Model A with finger-groove stock and before they re-designed the firing pin . Many times these will have the date on bottom of barrel but you have to remove from stock to see it. NICE family piece Hang on to it. 0 -
The serial number is 99473, but it also has a 2 above the number.
Ironically, it looks like this:

but the 3 is not quite stamped on the same like as the 9947. It's next, but it's slightly lower than the other numbers like a misprint.
Money is tight these days, and I'm just wondering if it's something I could sell, if it's worth the effort to sell, or something that should be held onto.

depending on condition and originality they sell from $400 to $1000, we would need pix to tell any closer. That said, if at all possible you should keep it. Once gone it's gone forever. 0 -

I am shure he wanted you to have the 52 or he would have just gave you $$$0
