S&W model 686
What is a smith and wesson model 686, 357 mag with a 4" barrel, blued worth. Guy wants to sell it to me for 300. I have seen a few for sale but all were stainless. Also he has a 10/22 with a bull barrel, synthetic stock, busnell 4x12 scope and a bipod mounted on it for 160. Is it worth that much. The guns are in great shape.

It is stainless. Smith & Wesson made a run of 686 revolvers with a blackened finish. $300 is a bargain.
The .22 sounds like a deal, too.

The Smith may be a model 586 if true blue. If the blued stainless factory version mentionned, then it would be, IMO, an even better deal!!0 -

If the entire gun is blue it is a 586 (unless it is as NUNN suggests). The 686 is all stainless. Either way it is a fantastic gun. At 300 bucks you better know him, it may be stolen. 160 for the 10-22 is also a steal, so same applies, make sure they are not stolen. 0 -
No brainer.
At those prices, buy both and you won't regret it.
Unless its completely beat to crap any 686 is probably worth at least $400.
10/22 with features you describe is worth at least $250, again, unless its totally beat to crap.0 -
