What is "overmolded rubber" grip?

I'm thinking of getting Crimson Trace LG-308 grips to replace the Pachmayr (which I like) on my S&W 19-3 snubbie. Grips are advertised as "overmolded". What does that mean?

  Not panels or 2 seperate pieces.(1911 style)

  I take "overmolded" to mean that a rubber compound is applied to a carcas of some kind; i.e.: handgun grips, rifle stock, etc.. The result is a solid shape, with a tacky, easy-to-hold grip.

  Hogue overmolded grips and forends have an aluminum base and a covering of rubber for a tacky grip as mentioned above.
  The problem with Crimson Trace's early grips is they were slippery plastic. That is now corrected by overmolding with rubber.
  I was thinking of overmolding mine with tennis racket sticky tape.

  I take off rubber grips as soon as possbile and replace them with wood. Hate the feel of rubber grips.
