Hello Forum Folks,
I've been invited to do a spring turkey hunt with my neighbor. The only 'sporting' shotgun I have is a 20 gauge with the various choke tubes. The semi auto is chambered for 3" shells. My neighbor said he will provide the ammo, 3" number 4 shotshells.
Which choke should I use for this event? I've never hunted turkey here in Florida and don't have a 12 gauge that will appease the Florida Game and Fish cops.

    Justright; I am NO expert on turkey guns. Hopefully some of these guys will help. I am about 90% sure that you would want to use a full choke. Turkey hunters always want just a head shot, which would leave me to assume only a full choke would be called for.

    use the fullest tube you have or better yet go out and buy a extra full turkey choke

    after you get the choke tube you're going to use get a few of those shells and shot them at a pattern board or target at about 35 yards , use a rest so you get a good shot off and see it the shot pattern is centered on the target, if not you are going to need to either aim off a little or put some kind of sight on your gun

    you 're not going to be aiming at the whole bird you are going to be aiming for a good shot on the head/neck area so you really want to know where that shot load is going

    i get great results with Strut Undertaker HS choke tubes

    FULL CHOKE!!! and aim for the head. I have knocked a few over shooting them in the body with a 12 gauge at 30 yards and wathed as they got back up and flew away[B)][:0].I think that is where the saying, tough old bird came from[;)]. LOL

    Thanks Guys... No time for choke shoppping and I'm kind of screwed for patterning. I'm leaving the house at 05:00 tomorrow morning for this event.
    Using a CZ720 for this, which is my 'on the cheap' clay gun. I'll put the full choke in and hope for the best.
    I was hoping to use my Colt A2 Carbine with ACOG, but my bud said it might scare the turkey !!!
