Colt ammo ?

After the reading another post I am wondering , was my Cobra and Diamondback made for +P ?

  No. If they were made for +P, Colt would have stamped them +P.
  
  However, that doesn't mean that you can't safely shoot +P ammo in them. You have to evaluate each gun on it's design & decide for yourself how long you want it to last.
  
  The Cobra has an aluminum frame. I would fire it with +P only on rare occasions, especially if it is a 1st gen with the exposed ejector rod.
  
  With a steel frame, the Diamondback should hold up longer with high power loads, but a steady diet of +P will eventually result in an expensive trip to the gunsmith.

  I was wondering if the Cobra was aluminum, it helps to know [:)]
  That is probably why I have a box of mid-range wad cutters lol.
  Since the Diamondback is steel,it won't hurt to shoot one or 2 shots in the diamondback, just to verify where the bullets are hitting.
