Rifle storage

I have a new rifle with a couple of barrels that cme in a fancy aluminum padded case. Is there any reason not to store it in the case? Thanks, Ken[?]

  If the case is foam lined, the foam can hold moisture and cause color changes to the bluing and corrosion to the metal. If you store in such a case be sure to a siliconized BoreStore to protect it. I prefer not to keep firearms in tightly sealed cases for storage.

  A friend of mine had a Winchester trap gun o/u that he left in a foam padded case. The wood developed a whitish film under the finish that did not go away. We still do not know how to correct it, but we attribute it to the storage in the padded case.
