Between Pacific Tool, Clymers and JGS who makes the best reamers?

This is going to be one of those really personal opinion questions for most folks. Most of us are brand loyal, sometimes to a fault.
All three manufacturers, along with a couple more, produce very fine reamers that will work for the jobs we require them to do. In the long run, our loyalty stems from the relationship that we establish with a particular maker and their employees.
I happen to use Dave Kiff's reamers (Pacific Tool and Gauge) more than any others these days. But I've had a longer, better established relationship with Dave and his employees also. I can send him one of my prints for something off the wall and he will call me to check all of the dimensions and angles before grinding anything just to make sure he understands what I'm looking for. There are occasions where he has made excellent suggestions to improve the original idea which I appreciate.
Anyway, you can't go wrong with any of the reamer makers for the general, run-of-the-mill chambers.

Manson reamers has done very well by me. You can call and get real informed answers and suggestions weather they know you or not. I suspect that this may be the norm for the business whichever the company. Being that folks don't go in for it without a love for the industry and want to work with other cartridge interested people. As compare to the take a number and wait crowd. I've used Manson, Clymer, Pacific Tool and JGS with equal satisfaction. Only older used reamers have ever given me much grief. One note, some shops have pet wildcats/cartridges. If what you are interested in is one of these then go with the folks who have a liking for it....... 0 -
