CCW .40 Recommendations

looking for advise, leaning towards a DA, like the look of the SIG but not the price, read up on the SW40 most complain about the trigger pull, maybe Taurus? Just don't know.
Currently have a Colt Defender .45, Colt Python 357, Barrette 92FS 9mm, & Walther PPKs .380 in the stable.

    This is a little difficult. I have tried a wide variety and it depends on what you will be wearing and how you will carry.

    Here in FL, I am in shorts, pullover shirt and shoes most of the time. My biggest problem of all the models is the grip. A friend showed me his solution. It's a Tauga model 30 leather belt slide on a wide leather belt with velcro ends (belt through and on outside of holster). I'm right handed, but you push the holster around to the left side of your gut. The pistol is just in front of your left pocket and tilted slightly away putting the grip against the left side of your belly. A rounded grip and short barrel allows you to sit comfortably and the grip not to print on your shirt. I've been using a Taurus P-111 9mm and a P-145 45acp with no problem. All my other pistols are uncomfortable. A SIG may be ok. Can't do the inside the waistband version. It drives me crazy.

    I guess I would suggest a rounded grip if possible. I like the 45acp and the Taurus has a small rounded grip also.

    I used to carry practically anything 30 years ago, small of the back, leg, shoulder holster. Wasn't trying to hide it then though.

    Just found a receipt the other day where I bought my Colt Agent air weight for backup at the local drug store for $39 new. Can you imagine that? I might frame it.

    I'm not a fan of the square black platic. I don't like the look or feel of the Glock, haven't handled the Kahr, or the XD.
    Taurus, Baretta, Sig, H&K, S&W, CZ have better lines and I like the look of the Stainless slide. Haven't handled any of these either.
    Keep thoes comments coming, my permits should be here any day.

    Depending on your mode of dress, I say a Glocck 23, Kahr, or the Springfield XD. Another option is the Para Ordnance small single stack LDA.

    +1 on the Springfield XD. Glocks are reliable guns, but they leave a lot to be desired in terms of handling in my opinion.

    The XD's are smoother shooting and have better grips.

    Glock 23 is my choice. Best feature of that pistol is that it has always gone bang when I pull the trigger and theres a round in the chamber. Might not be the most accurate, lightest, cheapest or best looking but that 23 is the most reliable 40 I own. Well right now its the only 40 I own.

    Not a darn thing wrong with a SIG either, have a couple of those, just not in 40.
