Colt M-16 22 conversion unit

`I own a original Colt M-16 machine gun. What 22 conversion unit will work in this gun in the "full auto" mode & the semi-auto mode. Where can I aquire one?

    You can use any of the drop in "chamber" kits and they work ok but there are some downsides. The barrels are not the right diameter or twist so accuracy is only ok. The gas port can get clogged with lead causing problems when switching back to .223.

    A better bet is to get a complete dedicated upper for your lower. The one I am going with after much reading is the Spikes Tactical.

    Thank you for your reply. I will look into Spikes web site later going to bed now..I wonder how much is the complete upper unit, and what about the mag well adapter or 22 magazine

    I have two Kuehl uppers, one has a suppressed 6" barrel and the other is a 14.5" M4. They are both dedicated 22LR uppers.
    They use JackAss Ceiner's M16 kits.
    They work very well on FA.

    I don't think Rick Kuehl is making any new ones.
    He can still assemble one with some remaining parts.

    Thanks for your reply. do you have any more info on the Kuehl? I'm not too familar with it.
