Shipping primers??

Just curious if anyone knows how people here on GB is legally shipping primers. I do know it is illegal for a individual or company to ship them that does not have Hazmat certification. A
FFL doesnt cut it guys. I have also emailed a few people here selling them and no hazmat charges. I purchased some from another guy and he shipped to me in a flat rate box thru the USPS for $12. Im wondering what a $250,000 dollar fine would do to these guys if they were setup and caught.

    Well if you, me or anyone wants to ship them you go to UPS or Fedex. You fill out the form and pay the shipping + hazmat fee.

    I bought 15000 on GB a while back and the guy couldn't get them shipped by UPS or FedX. He finally ended up dropping them off while on a business trip to Missouri. I get my paycheck from the Postal Service and will tell you for sure that if you got caught or there was an accident you might as well start braiding your own rope because the inspectors will hang you.

    +1000 on what Mobuck said. Word for years has been that the HIGHEST conviction rate of ANY Federal Law Enforcement Agency is for the US Postal Inspection Service. US Mail is a definite no-no. UPS GROUND as HAZMAT is legal. Are there people out there cutting corners? You bet. Are the penalties worth trying to do it? No way.

    The reason I brought this up is a friend of mine is basically loosing everything he has. He was caught. Fine is about what his home is worth. So I ask how well financially would you be if you had to pay a fine of $200,000? Dont want to see anyone have to go through this.

    That really does not seem reasonable. The punishment is supposed to fit the crime in America. If no one was hurt, no damage was done the punishment seems ultra-excessive to me. Oh well; welcome to the USA, comply with bureaucratic stupidity or they toss you into club fed an-or take every thing you ever had.

    That is the very reason that DOT is proactive in prosecuting persons making undeclared hazmat shipments. I assume the Postal Service is the same.

    Apparently postal workers, dispite asking, Don't really careor confirm that the "rattle" is OK.

    Just curious....I know that hazmat has to be declared and go by ground. It has to be packed properly (like any other shipment). But why is there an additional hazmat fee? Just because they can? Once the shipment is on the brown truck, it is handled and delivered just like any other parcel. Does the hazmat fee actually buy you anything, or is it like a bribe to just get them to ship your package?
    We are UPS shippers, and hazmat shippers are required to have additional training which makes sense, but the hazmat fee does not make much sense to me. After all, they are already making money on the shipping, aren't they?
