Colt serial number reference

Hi, experts. I know Bert H has said the Winchester date of manufacture references are for the most part inaccurate, and he has some corrected info. How accurate is the date of manufacture reference material for Colt Single Action Army revolvers? The DOM for late pre war guns can't be confirmed by factory letter (I know as I've tried) as it appears the records were lost or destroyed. Can anyone confirm date of manufacture of serial number 355526 for a pre war Colt SAA? Thanks Jim

  Hello 357859 is believed to be the last PRE WAR Single Action Army yours should be one of the first with Bright polish sides on the hammer. I would venture to Guess from what I can find out it would be early 1937
