I have banned guns
I have 4 gunsfrom the previous pre-ban list and now on Premier Commissar Obamas hit list....2 Cobray M-11 and a Tech 9 and Tech 22 ....would like to sell all the 9mm's how much are they worth? Can I even sell 'em now with this regime in power? I have been wanting to sell all as a group but could I get a better price singlely? Should Iwait till the ban goes full effect? Gun store up street says hold. but I'm trying to get 21-2400 for home repair and would use whatever proceeds from these toward that. I have picture of all but can't seem to insert here

Your best bet would be to put them on the auction, and hope for the best. Times are tough now for lots of folks, money wise though.
As the M 11's are the later production closed bolt versions, not likely to be worth as much as the open bolt ones.
My 2? is the guy at the Gun Store might have a point, if NOBAMA and his buddies pass a ban on "assault pistols", the gunshop commandos will panic and the value of your toys will likely at least triple.0 -

A few points.
a. No new bans have passed yet (let alone taken effect).
b. Despite the current panic, it remains to be seen if Obama will have the political capital to pass a gun ban during his tenure in office.
While it seems plain from his words and actions that Obama wouldn't hesitate to sign one into law given the chance, the Dems know that gun control is a BIG losing issue for them.
They recently took control of the Congress mostly by winning moderate seats in traditionally Republican areas. . .seats that well could swing back the other way if there were a new gun ban. . .the way there was as tipping point in 94 after the Clinton gun ban.
In particular, Nancy Pelosi has already taken a new gun control bill off the agenda for the immediate short term, for this very reason. So despite the loud agitating by those who stand to make money from selling guns and ammo right now, I wouldn't expect any kind of serious push for a big gun control act until at LEAST the 2010 elections are over.
c. Assuming a new gun ban does eventually pass, its not clear NOW what form it will take. Considering just how arbitrary the last one was (eg banning functionally irrelevant cosmetic features like pistol grips and/or bayonet lugs) you never know what the next one will look like. Its also not clear which guns will (or won't) be "grandfathered" in.
d. Based on c, its not clear NOW, how much such a ban would increase prices, at least in the short term. Obviously banned guns would eventually go up in value, if grandfathered in and still transferable. Again, we don't know yet how this hypothetical ban might affect those things. In the meanwhile, gun prices are ALREADY sky high due to massive demand.
The flip side of this is that every gun manfacturer in the country is already running their machinery at maximum output, meaning that there are literally more military style semi-automatic guns in circulation now then there ever have been before in our nation's history, with more being churned out every day.
So these guns aren't going to be particularly scarce anytime soon.
In fact, assuming Obama does NOT manage to ban guns (and I'd say there is a pretty good chance he will NOT), the hysteria will die down, and I'd think its quite possible we'll see prices on the more common semi-automatics go DOWN in time.
Bottom line here, is that it is NOT absolutely a foregone conclusion that your guns are going to skyrocket in value at some indefinite point in the future. If you need the money now, you could always sell half and hold half. At best you'll get some of the money you need now, and take advantage of the current high prices. At worst, you'll be able to take further advantage later if prices go higher.
If you are going to sell them, obviously, you'd make more selling them one at a time, but that will require more work, and could take more time. As mentioned times are tough now, so any sale of multiple expensive items may be hard.0 -

Most likley the weapons you have would be grandfathered in and you would be able to keep them if there were a ban.

Just a little head count regarding a ban - and keep in mind the House is generally not as conservative as the Senate
Last week 65 Democratic Representatives signed a letter informing the President they would vote against an AW ban. Nearly all 190 Republican Representatives would oppose a ban and that totals 255 votes against even if all the remaining Democratic Representatives voted for an AW ban - and I doubt that's the case.
Not signing an opposition letter of course does not mean you must be in favor of a ban. I doubt a Democratic Representative from Maryland or Illinois or New York who happens to be against the ban is going to draw attention to themselves by signing a letter.
Of course things can change and many folks have been the poorer after relying on the word of a politician. We have to be on guard and ensure our position is heard, but right now it appears any AW ban would not pass.0 -
If your purpose for owning the weapons is a monetary investment, sell now while prices are up. Times may be rough for you, if you need money more than you need the weapons, sell now while the prices are up. If you own the weapons because you believe it is your constitutional right to do so fight now to maintain that right. We live in a country with a constitution and the people still have a voice, exert yours. You sound as if you accept the government's power to disarm you, personally I do not accept this and will be working so that it doesn't happen to you, I could use your help.

I would not sell any guns or ammo right now, or ever for that matter, the way things are going on. I don't have a job and I owe tons of money, but I will sell everything I have before the guns go. I'd advise you to keep them as well. You'll be glad you did. 0
