Good scope brands that can see 1000 yds

I am looking into shooting matches @ 1000 yds and have decided to ask the experts on a scope brand and power. (prefer to have Mil-dot)
Currently im using a Tasco 6-24X40mm and can see ok to 500yds.

Thanks for you're time and advise.

    IOR, Night Force, USO, Swarovski, Zeiss, Leupold to name a few.

    How much power do you need? That is kinda up to you. There are many 1000 yard matches shot with open sites.

    I have been debating between 6-24 or a 9-32 IOR for my long range gun. I think I am going to go with 6-24. I pick IOR since it a good scope plus I am sold on their MP8 Dot reticle. If not I would be getting Night Force.

    Keep in mind that the standard for many decades has been the 10x for the military.

    The biggest factor is going to be the atmospheric conditions at the location of each shoot. You can have the best, most expensive scope in the world but give your shoot location moisture, heat (mirage) and dust and the scope will be taking a beating just keeping you on paper. The biggest help will be the spotter disks used as shot markers on the target.

    I've been using Nightforce most of the time but I'm looking at the new March designs to see if they're worth the extra-extra money. It seems like the price points of all of the accessories is on the rise big time. Bottom metal and triggers have gotten to be stupid recently.

    Kahles is my choice. I have one on my 300 H&H mag that I use for 1000 yard shoots.

    Nightforce NXS is the best bang for the buck. I, like nononsense, have been awaiting some reviews of the march scopes to see if they stand up to the price tag.

    It's a case of flexibility and simplicity.

    Most of us use variables simply because of the atmospheric conditions. The variable allows us to optimize the magnification in conjunction with the conditions at any point in the day or weekend. The 40x magnification is terrific for point blank benchrest from 100 to 300 yards but as you get further from the target, that extreme magnification stacks the conditions, often to the point of being unusable.

    I'm using a Nightforce 8-32 x 56 NXS and the 5.5-22 x 50 NXS so that I can adjust to the existing and changing conditions simply by observation instead of changing scopes in between relays. I do have a straight 12x that I use in certain conditions for restricted shoots.

    I have Burris, Leupold, Nikon and Sightron on most of my hunting rifles. I have a Sendero SF II in 300 RUM that has a NightForce NXS 5.5-22X56 on, and am getting the same thing for my DPMS LR-308.

    Perhaps you might be able to see to 500 yards, but if you use a NightForce, USO, S&B, or IOR, you will be suprised at what you didn't see at 500 yards.

    Of course when you get into that class of glass, expect a 4 digit price tag.
