old shotgun buttplate

i have an old 410 falling block shotgun by dellhoune. the buttplate is broken but was very nice with birds etc. does anyone repair these? it would involve replacing about 1/2 inch.
i don't believe the gun to be of any great value so i don't want to invest a fortune.

  I don't think your butt plate is listed on this site http://www.vintagegungrips.com they do have generic plates that you can cut down and make work.

  Until you can find a replacement or a professional repair (which you say you don't want to fund) why not glue it? Make sure the broken edges are clean, put a piece of waxed aluminum foil over the stock butt and carefully reinstall the buttcap with clear epoxy glue on the broken edges. Take a rag with a little alcohol on it and wipe off whatever glue has squeezed out. After it sets up overnight carefully remove it and peel off the foil.
