savage rifle help!

for all the savage experts out there...need help on the markings or lack of on the model 19's and those marked NRA MATCH RIFLE..I have one rifle that has no model number..but is marked NRA MATCH RIFLE..also has savage arms corp..utica,ny..patented nov 28 1905-sept 7, 1915,sept4 1917, nov 20 1917..25 inch barrel..half stock with schnabel forend..walnut..metal butt plate with SVC in a circle..ser# 31XXX....another rifle is full stocked similiar to a springfield..finger groove..sling swivels..rear peep..blade front sights..barrel is 25 inches..no model number..no serial number..same patents dates but no NRA marking..metal butt plate with savage logo and indian head..both take a clip/magazine ...I have shown them to people at local guns shows...some swear they are both model 19's..some say model 23's..anyone else have any ideas?..also anyone know which models were marked NRA MATCH RIFLE..and what made them so?..thanks for any info

    If you cannot get help here go to http://www.rimfirecentral.com contact the Savage historian. If you have the serial number, for a price he will give you the story of the rifle.

    I think the one you have marked NRA MATCH RIFLE has a later stock, probably from a 23a or 23aa. I never saw one or a picture of one without the full stock. The serial no. is over 25,000, so it should have double extractors and a large slot in both sides near the extractors. I also have an earlier one with no serial no., not marked NRA MATCH, and has a double firing pins and single extractor and narrower slots on the sides than the NRA MATCH. Also has the original full stock.
    I've looked and looked and can't find any information on the ones under 25,000 serials.
    Some of the earlier 23a's aren't marked with serials or names either, but have some with the different bolts, some with flimsy front ends, others different, sturdier. Just no info on the earlier ones.
    If anyone knows where such info is available i'd sure like to get it
