Does anyone have information on a Smith & Wesson Model 4503.

I'm not familiar with that model. Please take photos for us, being sure that we can read the model number stamped on the gun.

I think you mean the stainless framed 4506. I dont think S&W made an fullsized 45acp 3rd gen auto with an alloy frame.

According to the S & W book, S & W made a number of limited production 45 ACP pistols, (4500 series), in the late 90's. They were made specifically for Lew Horton and RSR, too large wholesale distributors. Some were produced in very limited numbers, perhaps the one your inquiring about is one of these special order pistols?

You might check with the folks over on the S & W collectors forum(s). They would very likely to know much more about this variation, if it does exist?
