I got a new scattergun...
this afternoon. It's a 12 G. SXS with 3" chambers and about a 20 inch barrels.
Roll stamped on one side: Imp by Stoeger Arms New Jersey and on the other: E.M. Amantino.
I've heard of Stoeger, but not Amatino.
The inletting of the shoulder stock is poor - maybe a sixteenth of an inch on one side. The wood is pretty, but not spectacular, with no scratched or blemishes.
There is no visible wear on the bluing, anywhere.
I paid $250 + $10 NICS.
I know you want pix, and at some distant time when I heal my relationship with Photobucket, I'll post some.
Can anyone tell me about E.M. Amantino ??
Do you think $250 is a decent price to pay ?? Yeah, I know, photos.
Thanks everyone.
Doug

Doug,
Could that be E.R. Amantino? ...like here?:

Here is some Stoeger history:

Finally, E.R. Amantino's Web site:

Thanks, BigLoop.
"In 1962, came out of the factory the first shotgun with side by side barrels. Ten years later, the first shotgun with over under barrels was made. Until today it is the only shotgun manufactured in the South America."
Exerpted from the Amantino website.

Doug,
You are welcome.
$250.00 ain't bad. Let us know how it shoots.
EDIT:
(Sorry Doug. I should have been clearer. This thought is not directed at anyone in particular:)
Oh, Rossi is in Brazil, and they used to produce SxS shotguns. So, is the quote a poor translation, a wild boast, or did Rossi get its shotguns from E.R. Amantino?0 -
Got me.
Maybe Rossi had their shotguns built in Pakistan ??
