Can I sell Antique 25 caliber Rimfire?

A friend has an antique single shot pistol that fires a 25 caliber rimfire cartrige. Can I sell it on Gunbroker.com without an FFL and not be persecuted, I mean prosecuted?

  Sure as long as it's pre-1899. If it was made later, it has to be shipped to a C&R or FFL dealer. However, the are some places you have to ship to an FFL dealer such as NY City and New Jersey. State in your auction that the buyer is responsible to abide by their state and local laws.

  There are no Federal restrictions on selling an [ATF defined] antique* on Gunbroker. Check local ordinances for restrictions (NYC, DC, NJ, maybe others). Best, Joe

  As Spider aid- Antique- as far as guns go- LEGALLY means made before 1899, or a muzzleloader. Newer than that, it may be a curio & relic, but is not an antique. The .25 Bacon & Bliss is an antique, .25 Stevens may not be. Both are RF.
