want as musch info on the .32 cal please

A friend of the family is moving and selling several of her late husbands collection. You guys wouldn't believe what she had that she wasn't selling: WW1 trench shotgun, m-1 D garand, 1892 lever gun, lugar, lugar artilry, p38, broomhandle mauser that looked like it just came off the assembly floor, a ww11 officer model 45 ACP revolver!!!

I don't know much about older weapons but I did pick up 2 she had to sell. One is a czech brno model 24 mauser that is serial numbered 1186 k, it's in pristine condition and all the numbers match including the stock. It is a 7.92 cal. The question is, is this the same as an 8mm mauser and I can just buy the surplus 8mm cartiges,

The other one I picked up is a .32 caliber pistol marked "fegyvergyar budapest frommer pat stop cal 7.65mm (32)" it's in great shape and shot quite well. What can you tell me about this little gem, it looks alot like an early browning pre-1911 type.

I picked up both for $225 which I thought was a steal.

    Yes, 7.92 is 8mm Mauser. You may see it called 8X57, but they are the same.

    You rifle was made after 1924 and before 1941. Without looking at the rifle and proof marks, it would be impossible to say. Pictures of the receiver are needed.

    It was a steal. The BRNO is one of the best 98 Mausers.
    After shooting corrosive surplus ammo, make sure you scrub the barrel out with hot, soapy water and a bore brush followed by oiling the bore. Also clean the bolt face because corrosive gas leaks out around the primer and will eventually pit the bolt face.
    Buy a one piece brass or plastic coated cleaning rod so as not to wear the muzzle and spoil accuracy.
    As regards the pistol,I believe you're talking about the P37. Most of the production was for the Germans. However, the pistols made for them carried different markings.
