old Savage 99 history and value

I have a savage 99B made in 1926 serial #289971. It's a take down modle with interchangable 300 savage and 410 shotgun barrels.It's all in a custom fitted case. Both the case and the gun have the name FJ Knight ingraved in them. The gun is in great shape and has a period scope and side mounts with it. The case is a bit warn but in good shape. Can anyone tell me the history and aproxamate value? thanks Mike
