AR locking pin

OK, I'm new to this. I have an AR with a new 22LR rifle upper. The pivot pin is installed. I don't know how these pins work. I need to install the rear pin but don't know how the spring and pin are installed. They are in a plastic bag nothing there to help. Maybe I should have given this whole project to a FFL.

  Easy to do once you know. The rear take down pin is held in place by the stock. You loosen up the top screw on the buttstock or loosen the castle nut on a collapsable stock. Then slide the stock or receiver plate back. Push the rear take down pin through the lower then put the take down detent followed by the detent spring through the hole in the back of the lower. Reinstall the stock or receiver plate making sure that the detent spring isn't in a bind then turn the take down pin until the detent clicks into the groove. Done. Look at the diagram at Brownells under "Factory Gun Parts" click on the DPMS logo then click on the "Complete Lower Receiver". This will show a good diagram and parts list. www.brownells.com
