Weatherby 2 3/4x10 scope Question
I own a .300 Weatherby Mark V ser.# P526## Made in W. Germany. What I am curious about is the scope. It is a Weatherby Variable 2 3/4 x 10 On the bottom it is stamped Made in Germany With the #s 45188. Did Weatherby make there own scopes or another company for Weatherby? I figure they must be pretty good scopes to put up to Magnum abuse. Any info would be appreciated. Thanks, Pat

Stroebel's Scope Book, doesn't note which German manufacturer made the scope for Weatherby. Only information noted is that they were known as the, Imperial Variable. They were made between 1958 & 1974. His old book , circa 2000 valued them at $225-$325, probably worth more nowadays. 0 -

I have two german weatherbys, a 224 and a 240. I bought two of the scopes you are discussing. All I know is they were not made by Weatherby but by a firm in West Germany. The name escapes me but I might have notes somewhere and if so Ill get back to this post. You will find out the information mighty fast if you vist the Weatherby collector forum and post your question. Those guys eat sleep and breathe weatherby. 0
