which mossberg .22 target rifle scope mount?

anyone familiar with vic havlins mossberg .22 target rifle scope mount?
i am considering using the mossberg side scope mount by vic havlin

as opposed to the mossberg no. 5 scope mount even though it is vintage correct it can be 'a you know what' sometimes to install the rings on the scope and such as opposed to vic havlins mossberg side scope mount which uses weaver 3/4" removable rings and is easily mounted and looks to be period correct even though it is not vintage correct.

    have used the side mount they sale with the weaver type base...put a regular 1 inch scope on with weaver rings and it worked fine

    Have bought Vic's side mount and the rigs for a 1". Added to a Mossberg 44 US. Works GREAT!

    what do you guys think comparatively of the mossberg no 5 and other factory mounts, do you feel that vic havlins side mount looks better?

    not if you are going for the period look and a 3/4" tube..just my thought anyway

    Agreed. For historical (hysterical?) accuracy, something like a Mossberg M4 scope. However, I wanted a high magnification, LARGE scope- not that itty bitty 4x15 sort of thing.

    Sort of like a 57 Chevy- question is, do you wnt one that looks like it came off the showroom floor in 57, or one that can do a wheelie?

    the 4x scopes are small however 4x scopes were also used on the military vintage scoped rifles of the time period for military use in combat as well.
