Remington barrel repair
I have a Remington model 11 12 ga. with a 30 inch full choke barrel marked Long Range and it has a small bulge about 2 inches back from the muzzle maybe from a squib or using steel shot I don't know . I've heard of removing dents from shotgun barrels but is there a shop that can remove a bulge

Cut it off back of the bulge and have screw in chokes installed . Is what I would do if mine. 0 -
not that i know of. a dent is compressed metal, a bulge is expanded metal. i suggest cutting the barrel back and having a tube installed. 0 -
Ironing is done on some high end guns but as others said, it's not only better but an improvement to shorten the barrel and install choke tubes. 0 -

Some years ago I made up a tool for this (lost in a fire), with three ball bearings mount in a clamping frame. It worked well. But as the others have said, cutting the barrel and adding screw in chokes is your best option. 0 -
Sounds like it might be a unusual bbl marked. maybe a shame to alter it.If its not bad just shoot it. Value is in the eye of the owner weather it was a HAND ME DOWN or a purchase. may lower value if cut off. If its a shooter Id shoot it. Maybe you want to shoot steel in it then tube it.My 2 cents 0
