Gold Cup Serial #
I have a Colt Gold Cup Series 80 National Match. The serial # is SN01xxxE. Anyone know what the "E" signifies? And what do you think it would be worth? Thanks.

On the left side front of the trigger guard is an upside down Delta symbol with what looks like a P inside of it. Above this is stamped F. On the right side same position is a W. Don't know if this info helps at all. Very curious to learn about these markings. Thanks. 0 -

Hello I dont have any information on colts after 1984 but for the most part the letters imbedded within their serial numbers but many times it is the type of finish or type of metal the frame is made of EDIT "the letter S most likely depicts the fact it is a stainless model." The upside down delta with letter inside is the verified proof and the other marks are inspector codes for who put the pistol together. If the pistol is new in the box with all papers then $1000.00 + or - if a used pistol with some wear then $600.00 + 0 -

The E is for enhanced tollerances on fit. not sure of value 0
