Winchester 1886 45-70

I picked this gun up at an auction and the barrel looks to have some pitting and rough looking Is there a process to clean it up or retooled .I have scrubbed the dickens out of it

  Talk to a gunsmith about having the barrel sleeved with a liner.Lots of guns have been 'saved' that way.
  If it's an old,'collectible' gun,you might want to shoot it 1st and if it shoots ok,not diminish its' value by the sleeving.
