Old .45 auto ammo

Recently my brother was given a LARGE quanity of old .45 auto ammo
I'd post a pic, but don't know how.
The card-board box is printed as follows

been told they are loaded to 150% of max.
Maybe for a tommy gun test ?????
What are they?, can they be used in a newer .45 auto ?
What are they worth.

    They are proof loads, and should NOT be fired in ANYTHING.

    The factory/arsonal will fire 1 proof load when the gun is first built, and that's the last time any gun should have a proof load fired in it. Proof loads are also called "Blue Pills"

    They are scarce, but the number of military cartridge collectors is pretty small. There's really no way to predict how much they are worth; my guess is the 1st box or 2 may bring a good price, the rest will go begging.

    If they were mine, I'd list a single box on GB. If it sells, I'd wait 6 months or a year & list another. Continue until you saturate the market.

    Do not shoot. Do sell AS A COLLECTORS item. Far beyond +P loads. And..... what is a LARGE quantity????
