HTML experts please help

If someone wants to post a link in the middle of a sentence(Or anywhere else for that matter) and wants the link to appear as a normal word without appearing as a Hyperlink how does one go about it formatting the link?

  You will need to get rid of the space in front of the first u.
  
  Replace the word link keeping the " " with the link. Replace the words, my title with whatever you want to call it.

  I tried to post these both in the same reply but it will not let me post the "how to" with out making it an active link.
