Russian Rifle question

I have a Russian rifle that is bolt action. Close to the reciever it has stamped this: CDI Swan VT MOD .44 7.62X54R MADE IN POLAND. By the eyesight it has this stamped: 1955 DK8672. Can someone tell me what this is exactly and what they normally sell for on the market today.

    You have a Soviet Model 44 carbine. The IMPORTERS name and address is there, and the year made. There are a LOT of those out there- apparently, Russia decided it needed the money more than the rifles stored in their emergency war stocks. Standard caliber is 7.62 X 54R. depending on condition, $80-125.

    You do have an M44 but if it is stamped made in Poland, it is probably a Polish one. Polish M44s command a premium. I'd say $150-$200. $80-$120 as said if Russian.

    Your rifle is a Polish M44 carbine. They were made on tooling imported from Russia, production started in 1950 and ended in about 1962. The 11 in the circle denotes that the rifle was made in the Radom Arsenal(Poland). Yours was made in 1955. The condition is above normal so I would expect it to bring $200-$300.
