Shipping!
I need to ship an antique pepperbox handgun, that is not operationa, from California to the CZECH REPUBLIC. There are 2 gun dealers in the area but they won't ship it out of the country. Any suggestions?

You Can ship it yourself if you do all the paper work and he does his. You can get a one time export from the goverment. It a pain I did it once and that is all you will ever want to do it. 0 -
I do not believe you need any export license or government permission to export a pre 1899 antique firearm. Just be sure you could proove the item is pre 1899. I have shipped several rifles and a couple pistols to Europe in the last few years. Including One French cartridge rifle from the 1880's that went to the Czech republic. All were shipped via US Mail international priority class. All you do is fill out the Customs dispatch paperwork they have at the Post office. It asks package contents. I write something like this; "Netherlands Model 1878 Beaumont rifle, SN: 1234. Pre 1899 antique, Made in 1878" Never had any problems or questions from any Govt types. Just make sure the person you are shipping to is sure it is legal in their country to receive it. 0 -
I am with neatguns on this issue. If it is an antique, it is not a firearm, and not subject to all the silly regulations. The only thing is, the Czech Republic may have restrictions on whether it can be shipped in. Your postmaster will be able to look that up for you. 0 -
