Hello I know that Colt offered the Nickel Finish at least as early as 1952. However so few of these have been sold in the last few years that it would be very hard to come up with a accurate $ amount. The information we need is this . Are you going to purchase from your friend [?] Is your friend wanting to sell[?] does your friend want to insure the pistol and need a Value[?] Answers to these 3 questions are all different. #1 to be fair I would offer a friend of mine 25% over what like vintage like condition BLUED pistols are selling for . If he has box and all paperwork this would = $2500 + or - #2 If my friend was going to sell I would advise him to put up for auction on this site with starting bid of $1.00 with no reserve. BELIEVE me there will be many bidders myself included and he will get what the pistol is worth because many many colt collectors will be on this site and look at his auction. But be aware many buyers on this site NEVER look at reserve auctions Myself included because this auctions run for months if not years and never meet reserve "WASTE OF TIME" to even look at . #3 if I was going to insure I would put a value of between $2250 & $3000 hope this helps some . 0 -

perry here are the pics, pistol is in excellent cond with just a little freckling on the grip safty.i know these arent the best pics but its the best i can do.any ideas as to value? thanks 0 -
Very nice looking pistol. IMHO I would want to get a factory letter on this pistol and try to explain why. There are two entirely different things that it COULD be #1 a pistol out of the custom shop with custom ebony grips and this would then IMHO be worth $2000.00 plus or #2 a nice pistol that was refinished and aftermarket grips installed and then be worth $800-$900. As you can see vastly different value . only a colt letter would be proof of the high value and second best would be a hands on inspection or Minimum some very high quality pictures up close in focus from about 6 inches away of the grip safety finish and all markings on slide and frame. I hate to say but the statement about the grip safety makes me think this is a refinished gun factory nickel does not Freckle 0 -
