Gold Cup trigger question.

What does the adjustment screw do ??? I have my GC disasembled for repairs and I thought I would look in the trigger area to see what the adjustor does.. Nothing ! As far as I can see. The screw comes thru the aluminum. It doesn't touch anything, so what does it do ? lol...

    The trigger Screw is the OVER-TRAVEL screw if you screw it in it will get to a point that the end of the screw will hit the Magazine release BEFORE the trigger will push the sear away from the hammer and thus let the hammer fall .The most commonly used adjustment you are looking for is then back off the screw a very small amount at a time until pulling the trigger "DRY FIRE" will allow the hammer to fall and then about 1/8 turn more. this will give you a safe MINIMUM amount of over travel.

    EDIT hey skychaser I did try to teach one year after I retired. local High School but went on to other things . I was going to go to jail my Idea of discipline and the schools system in this politically correct environment we live in today were shall I say DIFFERENT[:0]

    You should teach ! [:)] When I was dry firing I saw that the OT screw was hitting the mag release lever. I just didn't understand what was going on lol.. I do now.
