out of state sales

Which states have restrictive laws which place burden on out of state sellers of firearms? For instance, I live in TX and want to sell a personal firearm on Gunbroker. Which states should I refuse bids from to simplify my life? I see many people refusing bids from California but thought there were a few others like Mass. and Minn. I would ship non-ffl to FFL, but do have a local FFL I could ship from if needed.

    Can I sell a handgun to my wifes brother if he lives in another state, my license is in Idaho, he lives in Virginia. The regs seem to imply that I can as long as I comply with Virginia law. Thanks guys.

    New York State dealers will not accept modern firearms from non-FFL's. They must be shipped from an FFL dealer. New York State also does not accept C&R licenses for handguns so they must also be shipped to an FFL dealer but long guns are acceptable to be shipped directly to the licensee (except in NY City). Antiques and replicas of antiques may also be shipped directly to the buyer (except in NY City).

    Many FFL's will not accept firearms from non-FFL's, so be sure to state in your ad that buyer is responsible for making sure his/her trasfer FFL will accept from a non-FFL.

    I would not be concerned about limiting sales to a given state- Would state that you are not a FFL, and BUYER'S FFL must be willing to accept a shipment from a non-FFL. As long as you ship TO a FFL, that FFL is responsible for complying with state and local laws.
