Track Meet Starter Gun

Where do you find blank shooting starter revolvers in 32 cal? I will be starting all of the home track meets this year and the schools 22 starter gun misfires frequently plus isn't really loud enough. Only thing I've found is an NEF that seems kind of pricey. Any ideas?

    USE a S&W 500 and use the second shot on anyone that false starts [:I][:0][^] Sorry I could not help it the [}:)]made me do it. How about any used 32 S&W top break or does someone check for a solid barrel.

    I don't want any problems because my problems would rub off on my daughter(who had 4 firsts last night at the first track meet of the year). So it is going to be a true blank shooting plugged barrel starters gun.

    I understand 100% great job on your daughters part . I think you will have to go with spending a few bucks . However check with availability of the 32 Blanks Cant get them in my area. Also have you given a thought to those small hand held CO2 air horns sold in Boating supply stores.

    Type in 32 Blanks on Google and you will find 1000s.
    I use them training pups.

    Check with the athletic director. I can guarantee you that he has dozens of athletic supply catalogs, each will have one or two starter pistols. You may also need a "starters sleeve" to wear over your forearm. (helps runners to find your arm when you raise it)

    The problem may be the choice of firearm as much as the choice of blank. My friend uses blanks to train dogs. He has used literally EVERYTHING available over the last 30 years or so. He has settled on a Taurus .22 LR revolver in stainless steel, and .22 caliber power loads, NOT BLANKS, available at building supply stores. The power loads are very reliable and very loud.
