    If you've got money to burn and a very particular empty spot in your collection of museum pieces, go sic.

    In general, the 10ga shotgun started on the down slope after the introduction of the 3 1/2" 12ga, which performs very close to the 10ga on game with a handier, more versatile gun and less recoil. As for demo'ing rogue automobiles, I believe the effects of a 3" 12ga would be indistinguishable from those of the Roadblocker.

    Just so you know, I believe that the Remington SP-10 is almost the same thing, except that it has a Remington contoured reciever. I believe they bought the design from Ithica when Ithica was having problems.

    I know you are mainly interested in an autoloader but yesterday I was looking at mossbergs website and OH MY GOODNESS do they have some VERY intimidating pump guns these days. Some of them have muzzle breaks on them that remind me of a barrett which they call the 500 Road Blocker item #50551. You have to look for it on their site as they have so many versions but it was under the 500 & 590 section. They also have another other cool model called Rolling Thunder and they have Persuaders with what look like door entry muzzle breaks.

    I have a Mossberg 500 now, and am considering some kind of self defense autoloader, and was thinking that a 10 Gauge auto probably wouldn't have as much recoil as a 12 Gauge pump, and would be a very effective stopper.

    I don't know anything about the loads available in 10s - slugs,
    buck, BBs ??

    Doug, you should never feel undergunned with a Mossy 500 or 590.
    I sold my Roadblocker after I couldn't find any more roads to block. Kicked like a slug outta the 500.
