Had a old side by side come in for a little TLC, and wondered if anyone has a idea of the brand ?
No marking on it anywhere, other than the Anson & Deeley's patent, the stamp, and the numbers..
Nothing on the barrels at all, and it looks very well made.....

The "V underneath Crown", is the definitive British proof used at the London Proof house, it was in use prior to 1954. Really odd there are no other proofs, and/or manufacturers/retailers markings, on what looks like a descent quality gun though?

Anson, E & Co, Birmingham, 1891-1920
E. Anson & Co; were in business from 1891 to 1895 at 77 Slaney Street, Birmingham. The company then moved to Steelhouse Lane, where it remained until 1920. E. Anson was the maker of the Peremptory Anson & Deeley shotgun. There was a connection between E. Anson and the Anson of Anson and Deeley. Edwin Anson was the Son of William Anson. He was born in 1863 and died at the age of 73. He had, at one time, made sporting guns in America and was involved in designing equipment for Clay Pigeon Shooting..He served his time with Westly Richards...Its very likely your Gun was Made in the USA from Parts manufactured in England and shipped to the Plant here and finished...This would explain the fact that Your Gun has only One Proof Mark and that was for the Barrels....In America We never used Proof Marks.... William Anson was the Foreman of the Westly Richards Gun Action Department and two years after the Anson & Deeley hammerless gun was patented on 11th May 1875...0 -
Nice looking Shot Gun. The STRANGE looking bird . may give a clue to the country that it was engraved in. Looks like GIANT timberdoole 0 -
