can anyone tell me the value of a sig sauer model 232, 380 cal., blue, 3 mags., excellent condition. no box/papers. thanks.

    The P239 is a subcompact that Sig makes. Its about the same box profile but a little meatier. Its also available in 9mm, .357sig, and .40sw... Ultra reliable and accurate.

    Sure. They're great CCW guns.

    In my opinion they're best of class for the pocket-type blowback action short 9mm (eg .380ACP) pistols (which include the Walther PPK, Bersa Thunder, Makarov, etc).

    If you like that style of gun for concealed carry (and many people do), this is a very good choice.

    As mentioned, though, nowadays there are 9mm luger guns that are roughly the same size, so you get can get more power from the same sized package, plus slightly cheaper ammo.

    Alternatively, there are polymer .380 guns (like the Kel Tec and Ruger) that offer the same caliber in a smaller and ligher package, though in general those are somewhat less reliable guns.

    The Sig P232 is a world class pistol. It is one of the most naturally pointable guns I've ever used. They are reliable and very accurate. You get your choice of finish, sights and grips...very versatile pistol. I prefer the lighter alloy model for CCW purposes and I prefer the heavier stainless model for range work. The stainless model with Nill grips is one of the most beautiful guns made IMHO.

    The newest Sigs have a different slide serration cut and slightly different sights. There are some great bargains in used pistols avilable if you are patient and can afford to wait and be picky.

    My favorite P230 is actully a .32acp model, which is a real treat at the range...low recoil and laser like accuracy. A whole lot of fun.
