Halographic Red Dot Help

OK, I have my 5.7 upper on my AR installed. This upper doesn't lend itself to a scope because the mag is on top of the upper. I'm thinking of a red dot. The halographic red dots are much better than my inexpensive non-halographic red dot I have on my 10/22 pistol - right?

What brand should I look for? I'm, looking to be accurate at 100-200 yds and this cartridge is capable of that. The questions are abouit the sights & Jeff's old eyes! Looking for info on the former.

  While I have a EoTech and like it I am NOT a fan of them on the AR.
  
  My next favorite dot type site is the C-More. It has a very low profile and is a solid unit. The only semi down side is the smallest dot you can get is a 2 MOA. This covers 2" at 100 yards and 4" at 200, to me that would be fine with your set up.
  
  I have a 4 MOA on my 9mm AR and after a few thousand rounds it is still running strong.

  I dont really like the c-more on a nonsocial rifle because it is more apt to fail when full of mud, wet, soaked in water. they are awsome for fast shooting but wont offer absolute reliability in all conditions..
  
  An Aimpoint or EOTech is more appropriate for a rifle that is ever gonna see a mud dunking in its lifetime.. there reticle systems are self contained in water tight vacuums... If I am not mistaken a C-more's reticle lighting system is exposed..
  
  I know from first hand experiances that exposed reticle lighting systems Wont always be reliable.
  
  If you plan on mounting folding iron sights, the Aimpoint Comp1-3 would be about the only choice I can think of that would allow this.. i think the C-more with BUIS may be too long. the rear mounting area looks kinda short..
