remington 552

got this 552 in my shop. customer says it is misfireing.
load it up and yep, snaps 7 out of 15 times. check cases, very light dimple from fireing pin. tear down and clean, replace fireing pin. same problem.tear down again looking for anything. no burrs at chamber mouth, polished chamber. same problem. trigger group looks fine. any ideas , something i am overlooking?

    Hey guys, I am having some problems with a Remington 552 speedmaster. I think it is a feed ramp problem. Any suggestions on fixing it. Thanks for the help

    Sell the gun. Everyone I know who has owed a 552 starts to have the problem. I did and bought a Nylon 66 and never looked back.

    Thanks I had the same thought, but I am slowly breaking into gunsmithing and this is one of my first jobs. Just wondering if their was an easy way to fix the feed ramp or timing

    ONCE THIS STARTS, IT IS LIKE CANCER. git rid of it.

    I tried to get Rem to fix it, to no avail.

    Look around for a remington 550-1 willams patent,it will even function with (C B) shorts has a replaceable breech.

    check out the Remington forum on RimfireCentral.com. there are a lot of guys knowledgeable on Remingtons there.

    i have owned 2 both were jamomatics. take the others advice get rid of it. remington can't even fix it.

    I've got that I inherited from my grandfather. Functions fine, but the barrel is "wobbly". It has side to side play. It's a tack driver if you are carefull to hold the barrel steady.
    Bought a new receiver. Didn't help. So as far as I tell, when they break, their just broke. No fixing it.
