Selling Marbles Gamegetters

Hi,
I want to sell 5 of these on this auction site.
One has 12" bbls., one has 15" bbls. & three have 18" bbls.
Is it legal to sell these on Gunbroker?

    it is legal to sell them here BUT all laws .state,and federal must be adheared to reguarding them by both seller and buyer good luck[^]

    I believe if they are not already licensed they will be difficult at very best to license or sell.

    18" barrels- just a curio and relic firearm. HOWEVER- the shorter barrels are a Class III weapon- under the heading of "Any Other Weapon". They are treated similar to a full auto or short barreled shotgun. The transfer tax is only $5- BUT- they must already be registered with the BATFE. If they have not been, the word I have gotten from the Feds is that they CANNOT be registered- and possession of an unregistered class III carries a penalty of 10 yrs, all your spending money, and loss of your girlish laughter. If they are already registered, and you have the paperwork, congrats.

    The three with 18" barrels, as long as the overall length with stock folded is over 27", shouldn't be a problem.

    The 12" & 15" are going to be virtually impossible to sell legally unless you have the correct federal paperwork issued prior to or during the amnesty of 12/68.

    Perhaps you should should consider separating the barrels of the 12" & 15" versions, from the receiver(s). If the proper federal paperwork hasn't been obtained. Very serious legal reprecussions might ensue, if you attempt to sell them otherwise.

    Came across this site with the letter a few years ago. Finally found it again. Original registration cards are available, too. They number in the 1000's, however.

    You should be able to pick out the typos in this letter but it will tell you what you need to know.

    Basically, anything under 18" is illegal.

    Instead of destroying an undersized gun or barrel a machinist can weld sleeves to the barrel ends, bringing it/them up to legal length.
    They can then be legally sold. I suspect only one of the twin barrels need be extended. An expert opinion should be got from the BATF but not by you personally.
    When English Enfield Jungle carbines or Swedish 96 carbines (I forgot which)came in to the States they needed to be brought up to 18" size
    by sleeving. Barrel length was subsequently changed to 16" for rifles.

    Along with what the letter and v35 said you have another option.

    Keep the short barrels and the receivers apart. Fill out a Form 1 (making) to make 2 of the receivers into legal AOW's. Once the Form 1 comes back approved re-join the receivers and barrels into legal firearms.

    Since AOW's are still legal to make then why not make what you have legal.

    Fifteen years ago I was given a 15 inch gamegetter before I was aware of the law and was advised by a ATF agent to have a gunsmith replace the barrels with 18 inch barrels .they are straight tubes and it was not all that difficult using heavy wall barrel liners turned to fit the breech and forward blocks as i think they were pressed and pinned into the blocks at the time it cost me $80 but I'm sure that's changed
