Remington 1911 value

My pop called tonight and has a chance to pick up a couple of these from his local PD, they are going to give him a price tomorrow. They are NIB surplus guns that I guess are sold to local PD's; satin finish with checkered walnut grips was the only description he had. Saw one on the auction side for about $1,100 thought that sounded pretty high?

    Remington Rand 1911 manufactured by Colt in 1919. I got this info from researching the serial # . Is this of any value to collectors? It is complete and functional with two clips and a holster.

    BUY THEM you will not regret it. If they are Remington then they would be Military made during WW II . even if refinished by military arsenal they would be worth more then that by far.
