AK-47 Mak-90 7.62X39 vs 7.62X55

I have posted three sites about the headbolts on these weapons but,I can't seem to get an answer from anyone. I am trying to find out if a bolt from a 7.62X39 diffrent make ie russian,yugo,bulg, can be made to fit a chinese norinco 7.62X55. Or will one work from a AK-74. I have access to a excellent local machine shop. Does anyone know if they still make the bolts for this weapon.

  try that ? at AKfiles.com (I think) or gunsnet, or the AK section at ar15.com - hell try all of em - someone there can tell you I'm sure.

  If that is the Chinese copy of the 7.62x54 sniper rifle (SVD), then the answer is NO. TThe 7.62x39 is a semi rimmed or rimless case, and the 7.62x54 or 55 is a rimmed case, where the rim is MUCH larger. There would be to much material that had to be removed.

  Hmmm, well there was the 7.62x54r Tokarev rifle, that looked very similar to an SKS... The parts are not interchangeable. SKS and AK parts are not interchangeable either. I'd be more interested to see where your getting this 7.62x55 from. Is it possible that your mistaken in reading the stamped print on the part? Could you post a picture of it?
