Lefever double barrel shotgun

I am looking for any info on lefever shotguns. I have a two trigger side by side with matghing serial # But don't know the model number or if there is one. It's a 12ga. The recoil pad says it is a Mershon deluxe slipon (med) Any help would be appreachiated

    I have a Lefever double barrel 16 ga. Shotgun. It appears to be F grade. The serial number is 14568. This gun has automatic injectors and is made by Lefever Arms Co. It has a bird dog on one side and on the other side it has a bird dog with pheasant in its mouth. It also looks like inlaid silver on the sides. This has also some other engravings on wood. The gun looks to be in good condition and good and tight. Inside of barrel is very good.

    Can anyone tell me when it was made and the value of it?

    Please tell us exactly what is marked on the gun, and the serial number.

    Lefever (Dan and his brother) made guns starting back in the year 1885. In the year 1916, they were acquired by the Ithaca Gun Company. The serial number and the markings on the gun will tell when it was made.

    The gun has markings with the serial number 97976 on underside of barrel, on the forearm, the inside of the trigger guard,and on the receiver. They all match.the only other marking is Lafever arms co on both sides of receiver.I forgot it also says patended 1872 78.80.85.86.87

    Pull the for end off and take the gun apart and look in the channel and you should find a model # it should be a series of letters
