A "do it all" gun
Good afternoon all, I would like to get your feedback on ONE GUN that you consider THE "do it all' gun is. This gun will be used for concealed carry, home defense, and target practice. Myself, I believe that mine would be the Glock 19. Let the debate begin. Thanks and have a great weekend.

A 4 inch 357 magnum revolver from S&W or Ruger. Hell if the world falls apart you can even hunt with the thing. The ability to shoot varying powerful rounds and cartridges(38 special) makes it an attractive option as well.
Now if you must go autoloader, than a Glock 19 is good.0 -
I dont believe in a single do it all gun. I can get it down to maybe 2 if I had to but 3 would be best.

Given the constraints of "concealed carry, home defense, and target shooting" I agree with the choice of a .357 magnum revolver, which will also let you hunt medium game at relatively close range.
Revolver is simple to operate and clean with no magazine to malfunction or lose, utterly reliable, and in single action mode usually has a better trigger pull than all but the best automatics.
In terms of TRUE "do it all" gun, the pump 12 gauge is probably the single most versatile gun out there in a longarm, since the ability to put in slugs, buckshot, and birdshot makes it capable of hunting a variety of game, or for indoor or outdoor defensive use. Also, there are cartridge adapters that can let you use a shotgun to fire pistol rounds.
Its "cheating" a little bit, but if I had to pick one semi-automatic pistol only, I'd pick the EAA Witness since caliber conversions in 9mm .45, 10mm, etc would greatly expand the practicality of the gun.0 -

Yes, I know that "N" Frame, "stainless", and "Large Frame", are redundant when referring to a 629, but the poster may not.
I actually carried one one in a butt pack for several years.

I usually carry either a 3" or 4" 629 depending. 44special or 44magnum ammunition makes it adequate for pretty much anything. 0 -
The Do it all gun for me would also have to be able to take down game up to Whitetail deer size.
6" S&W 686....a bit tougher to carry concealed, but it can be done0 -
