.223 - .224 bullets

I'm looking for some bulk .223 bullets. I see bullets listed as .224. Will these work in a .223 AR15?

    The .223 term refers to the cartridge, .223 Remington. The bullets used in the .223 Remington are actually .224" so any of the obvious .22 caliber bullets measuring .224 will work in your rifle.

    There are .223 diameter bullets for the early Hornets, Hornady makes them, but nononsense usually knows what he's talking about.

    OLDCOP - I have a pile of them too. Buy 500 at a time from Midway.

    You're right. I made an assumption based on his use of the term 'AR15'. After I posted, I thought about putting that disclaimer in but I got busy doing something else... I have some of those pesky .223" diameter bullets on a shelf somewhere.

    I plan on buying at least 2k this week. Midway shows most bulk FMJ out of stock but show restocking dates in mid to late March. I plan on calling them Monday and see what they say. Also had trouble finding powder. I was in a town Friday with a big firearm shop. I've never been in it. The town is really small. I couldn't believe how big the store was. I started to pass on by but whipped in the parking lot. Glad I did. I ws lucky he had plety of powder. I wiped him out of his IMR 4198 with six cans and three cans of Hogdon Benchmark. He had maybe two cans left. He couldn't get any bulk .223 bullets.
