    Excluding experimental and prototype guns, I believe Winchester's Model 1890 was their first production slide action 22. According to Ned Schwing's book, receiver serial number 1 was November 26, 1890.

    Or, are you asking about one of the newer 22's designed to look like a lever action Model 1894.

    If it is an original model 1890 made in 1894, at $275, I would be extremely suspicious that it has been refinished or otherwise altered from its original condition. Unless the seller has no clue what they have or what the market should be, be very careful!

    this one was made in 1906. its a shooter and preforms excelent, it has the smooth wood forearm as well.I think the price is about right,whatcha think?

    Hello buddy1,

    I suspect that you have a Model 1906 (marked on the barrel), and the only way to determine when it was made is the serial number (located on the lower tang and the bottom of the barrel assembly). If you post the serial number, I can give you the Month & Year that it was actually manufactured.

    Woops: my mistake whin I looked at this peace I realy wasen't looking to buy another 22 but a friend showed this one to me and said he needed to sell it. I just gave it a quick once over and just thought i saw 1890 on the brl. BURT [YOU ARE THE MAN]it is a 1906 made in 1909 what else I cant say.
