Ruger Security-Six DOM

I have, well actually it belongs to my dad but I'm the only one that shoots it, a Ruger Security-Six 357 mag that I know has been around for a while but just curious of an approx date of manufacture. Serial number starts with 150-01. Thanks.

  Ruger Security Six, serial numbers 150-00001 to 150-35383 were manufactured in 1972, first year of manufacture and production continued until 1988 with serial number 162-39887.

  Or at least one of the first couple of thousand !!!
  
  If I recall, there was a change made around serial number 154-????? that changed the shape of the butt, I remember you have to discriminate between them for grips, they will not interchange between the two.

  I just went to Ruger.com to look up the DOM for my Sucurity six which ser# begins with 157, Ruger goes from 156 (1981) to 158(1982)so I guess mine is a 1981 1/2 [^]
