Defense 12 G. auto...

Colt Super
What would the best 12 g. semi-auto to build into a defense shotgun ??

Need to take 2 3/4 and 3" shells, cylinder bore.

Need to be reasonably priced.

What to pay ??

New or used.

    Benelli M1 or M3. The M3 is pump or semi.

    Not sure what reasonable is to you but I believe you can still find either used in the $800 range.

    The Saiga 12's are also very reliable and pretty cool. In stock set up the are a little akward to me. Price is up on them a bit and while I do love my Tromix converted one for an out of the box gun I would still go with my M1.

    11-87 Remington. Remington makes police type 11-87 guns and they are relatively reasonable.

    He needs a 3 inch gun, so the A5 is out as most Magnums are not chopped. Personally the 2 3/4 should be able to do. Center Fire Systems have the Saigas for 550 right now.

    A friend has 2 A5's that were made for the Federal prison system as riot guns .
    OD and extended tubes.
    Both NIB.
    Drool every time I see one !

    If you have one of those stores near you you might want to check it out. It wouldn't take much to cut the barrel down to 18"
